Asheville Update

For today, just an informational update rather than anything too in depth. Besides, we’re coming up on the shortest, darkest day of the year, and while I know there are still 24 hours in every day, I don’t know about you, but my days feel really short right now.

space-tour1We are well underway towards building the Asheville retreat. We’re going to be holding the retreat at an absolutely beautiful center called Co-Luminate, a place which has both values and facilities that feel perfectly aligned with the goals of Touch Practice. The folks there have been just great to work with, and the location, smack in the heart of Asheville, will be attractive both for those flying in for the retreat as well as local residents who are participating.

mos_logo_214We’re about 50 percent (7 guys) full at this point, which is a faster-than-usual response rate. I’m grateful to Men of Spirit for helping to put the word out. I’m still catching up on e-mail inquiries at this point so, if I haven’t gotten to yours yet, I appreciate your patience. I’ve been having great conversations with guys who are considering attending the workshop, many from the Asheville area, and others from a plane trip away who love Asheville as a destination and vacation location.

I’d like to keep this brief, but as the Earth is about to “turn it around” and start wobbling in the other direction, towards the longer, lighter days and heading back towards summer, I’d like to point you towards two writings for the solstice. First, if you’re tired of fighting the shortening days, colder nights, and the inevitable energy lull and weight gain that many people find at this time of year, consider going with  the natural course of the Earth and leaning Into the Darkness.  And, when you’ve had enough in that direction, you can try the practice of Beginning Again, and, like the Earth, come back around.

I wish everyone a great solstice and happy holidays!
